Attend College While you Home School

If you’d like to go to college during home-school these are the requirements:

  • ACT scores (sub scores of 18 or higher in English and 19 or higher in Reading and Math)
  • If desired sub scores have not been achieved after taking the ACT, the Accuplacer can be utilized
  • ACT scores may be from a national or residual test
  • Please complete the entire admissions application, even agreeing to the terms at the very end. Give the process a couple of days to complete. You will receive an email giving you your next steps, which include logging into MyMotlow and submitting the Dual Enrollment Consent Form. Check your spam folder if this email does not come through to your main folder. Once you have completed your portion, an email will be sent to your parent or guardian asking them to complete their portion of the form. At the same time, an email will be sent to your high school counselor asking to complete their part. Your high school transcript and ACT scores will be uploaded at that time as well.

HOW TO CHALLENGE ACT SCORES

The Accuplacer exam may be used to challenge ACT scores once they are on file. For more information on the Accuplacer and Residual ACT, please visit Testing Services.

Homeschool & Dual Enrollment Students: Don't Miss Out on Free Tuition!

If you are a homeschool student currently taking dual enrollment classes, you are already getting a head start on college. But did you know you could also get your associate degree or technical certificate completely tuition-free after high school?

Through the Tennessee Promise, eligible high school seniors and homeschool students can receive a scholarship that covers tuition and mandatory fees at any of Tennessee’s community colleges or colleges of applied technology (TCAT).

Why This Matters for Homeschool Families

Unlike traditional high school students, homeschoolers don't always have a school counselor pushing deadline reminders. It is up to you to track these dates! Missing a single deadline means losing eligibility for the scholarship permanently.
