HOW MUCH DOES MOTLOW COST?

The following are the current tuition and fee schedules for Motlow State Community College. Fees are assessed at a rate of $171 per hour up to 12 hours. Hours above 12 are assessed an additional $37/hour for in-state tuition. Please see below for out-of-state rates.

Cost of Attendance (COA)

Cost of attendance (COA) estimates the total expenses for a student attending Motlow State, used in the formula for calculating Financial Aid Need.

The total figure includes averages for tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, personal expenses, and transportation. The Financial Aid Office uses the cost of attendance when calculating aid eligibility. It is not representative of a student’s actual charges. Students and parents can use the cost of attendance to build a budget for the academic year. Please note all amounts are based on averages. A student’s COA will change based upon their enrollment status and enrollment periods. All students are initially awarded based on a full-time, fall and spring COA. Their awards could change once their COA is updated to reflect their actual enrollment. These costs are subject to change each academic year.

There are budget adjustments for students who are out-of-state and/or participating in study abroad. Contact the Financial Aid Office for further details on these particular situations.

TN eCampus Online Degree Fees - 2022-23

Exceptions to above fees

  • Age 65 or Totally Disabled - Resident of Tennessee for credit will be charged a fee of $70 per semester
  • Age 60 or Totally Disabled - Resident of Tennessee may audit without payment of tuition fees

  • Dual Enrollment - $171 credit hour/over 12 hrs $37 cr hr
    • Dual Enrollment Access Fee - $8.55 credit hour/over 12 hrs $1.85 cr hr

DEI

Digital Engagement Initiative (DEI) Program: Motlow State has partnered with Follett Bookstore to provide the Digital Engagement Initiative (DEI) program. Students enrolled in specific courses are charged an e-book fee for the online book and online homework. You are automatically charged the price to your student account when registered for the DEI class. You have access to all the required DEI material on the first day of class. TN Promise or TN Reconnect does not cover DEI fees.
 
Students can opt-out of the e-book if desired and will receive an email from the Follett Bookstore with steps on how to access the DEI book as well as a link to opt-out. Please see opt-out deadlines.

Categories on Student Registration Bill and Student Account

  • Tuition consists of maintenance fees.
  • Out-of-state tuition consists of in-state and out-of-state tuition
  • Program fees consists of nursing materials fee, nursing competency testing fee, allied health liability insurance fee, MLT fee, Siemens exam fee, applied music fee, learning management system fee, Dual enrollment access fee and science consumables fee
  • Registration fees consists of program service fee, student activity fee, international education fee, and technology access fee
  • TN eCampus fees consists of on-line course fees
