FREE TUITION FOR ADULTS WITHOUT COLLEGE DEGREES

Through the State of Tennessee's Reconnect program, Motlow offers tuition scholarships for adults with no prior degree. Whether you've never attended college or simply never graduated, ask Motlow how to complete your degree tuition-free. Reconnect students receive additional last-dollar grants that pay any tuition costs remaining after the use of all other state and federal forms of aid.

Step 1

Apply to Motlow

Step 2

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Step 3

After you complete your application, you will need to submit your transcripts to admissions@mscc.edu. You will then need to submit a Proof of Citizenship and Immunization Wavier.  Follow the instructions below to submit this information:

  1. Log into the (Motlow HUB)
  2. Go to MyMotlow
  3. Student Tab
  4. Admissions Requirements
  5. Then find Proof of Citizenship and Immunization Wavier

Step 4

Apply for the TN Reconnect Grant via TSAC Student Portal
  1. Create a Log In
  2. Click on Apply
  3. TN Reconnect Scholarship Application
Applications must be submitted each year to maintain eligibility

Step 5

Enroll in a Minimum of 6 Hours a semester.

TN Reconnect Covered and Non-Covered Fees

Tennessee Reconnect is a last-dollar scholarship for adults to earn a degree or certificate tuition-free.

Fees covered by TN Reconnect

  • Maintenance Fee
  • Student Activity Fee
  • Technology Access Fee
  • Program Service Fee
  • International Education
  • TN Reconnect can cover a small portion TN eCampus fees. The amount of the fees covered changes depending on the number of hours enrolled.

  • Textbooks
  • TN eCampus Course Fee
  • Science Consumables Fee
  • Nursing Materials Fee
  • Nursing Competency Tests
  • Applied Music Fee
  • Siemens Exam Fee Level I

  • Medical Laboratory Tech Fee

DEGREES COVERED BY RECONNECT

Receive and Maintain Reconnect

  • Enroll in at least six (6) semester hours in the fall and spring semesters
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Complete the renewal FAFSA each year
  • Continue to participate in the Reconnect Success Plan by completing the Tennessee Reconnect Grant application every year

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • Tennessee resident (at least one year)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Qualify as an independent student on the FAFSA
  • Comply with U.S. Selective Service requirements, if applicable
  • Not have previously earned an AA or BA degree
  • Not be in default on a student loan
  • Not owe an outstanding balance to an institution
  • Be enrolled and admitted to a Tennessee public community college, at least part-time (minimum 6 hours) in courses leading to a certificate or associate degree
