Motlow State Community College was honored on April 19 by members of the Tennessee General Assembly to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the College's opening. The anniversary actually took place in 2020, but formal recognition had to be deferred due to COVID-19.
The Motlow College Foundation honored Tennessee Department of Education State Coordinator of Family Resource Center's Taylor Rayfield with its 2021 One to Watch Young Alumni Award on April 26.
The 29th Annual Charles Gleghorn Invitational Golf Tournament is set for Friday, May 7, at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Fayetteville. The tournament is sponsored by the Bank of Lincoln County and benefits the Motlow College Foundation.
Misty Griffith, associate professor of biology at Motlow State, was awarded the 2021 Harold Love Outstanding Community Service Award. Griffith was one of five honorees and the only community college recipient selected by a statewide task force for this award.
The Motlow State Community College's Alpha Xi Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society received multiple awards at the 2021 Virtual Catalyst Convention, April 8-10.
My journey at Motlow State was nothing less than amazing. I am a single mother with a school-age child, so having the opportunity to complete my entire degree online was the best. I am forever grateful to the faculty and staff for their guidance and help--especially Haley Austin and Professor Margaret Maxey, for all of their support during my two years at Motlow. I cannot be prouder to be an official alumnus!
Two Motlow State long-time, well-respected faculty, and academic deans were granted faculty emeritus status by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), the College System of Tennessee, the College's governing board March meeting.
Motlow State Community College will hold its 2021 Commencement ceremony on May 9 at 2 p.m. Graduates, their friends and families, and the public can view the ceremony at Motlow.com/graduation.
The Motlow College Foundation honored LaVergne Middle School Principal, Dr. Cary Holman, with its 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award on April 15, following the Foundation's Virtual Gala that took place March 22-26.
In partnership with the Lincoln County Health Department, Motlow State Community College is hosting a COVID-19 vaccination day at its Fayetteville campus. The Lincoln County Health Department will be on-site to administer the vaccine. Attendees are required to wear a face mask.
