Celebrating African-American Heritage

Motlow now offers a concentration in African American Studies that allows students to study African American experiences through literature, history, and music. Studying contemporary events and artistic movements enables learners to appreciate African American contributions to our past and future.

A degree with a concentration in African American Studies is available as both an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science, depending on which one will work best for the four-year degree of your choice. Students in this program will develop research and analysis skills by studying the historical contexts in which African Americans expressed their experiences. Journey through the past to learn about the struggles African Americans have endured in America and how their contributions will continue to influence the world.
