  1. Apply and be accepted as a student to Motlow State. Contact Admissions for more information at admissions@mscc.edu or 931-393-1520.
  2. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available to submit beginning October 1 for the following academic year, starting with Fall. Students and parents need an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA. For questions regarding the FAFSA, please call 1-800-4-FED-AID. Remember to add Motlow's school code (006836) to your FAFSA.
  3. Monitor your Motlow student email account. When your FAFSA is received, we will send you an email with further instructions. Your Motlow student email account is the only email the Financial Aid Office uses to communicate with you.
  4. Complete all financial aid requirements by the Priority Deadline for the semester you will first attend: June 1 for Fall, December 2 for Spring, and April 15 for Summer. Check your MyMotlow account regularly for updates. To find your requirements:
    1. In the MotlowHub select MyMotlow
    2. Click on the Financial Aid tab at the top of the screen and then "Eligibility."
    3. Then click the link for "Student Requirements."
    4. Select the appropriate aid year and click "Submit."
    5. The student requirements are listed in a table. Click on each one to complete.
  5. Submit all other missing documentation promptly. Submitting your documents after the posted deadline may result in your financial aid processing after the tuition due date. All documentation must be submitted and reviewed before awards can be posted.
  6. Submit any appeals. If you no longer meet the eligibility requirements for federal or state aid, you will receive appeal instructions at your Motlow student email account.
  7. Apply for scholarships.
  8. Check your TSAC student portal to be certain Motlow is listed as your school of record for state awards. We cannot process awards for students not on our roster.
  9. Motlow will email your student account with instructions on viewing any awards you have received. All awards may not be present as information from different sources is received at other times. Awards are divided into two halves (Fall/Spring) and will be disbursed accordingly. Aid may also be available for Summer. Note that all financial aid awards are subject to change or cancellation without prior notice to the student based on eligibility requirements as outlined by the federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
  10. Confirm your enrollment for the term to keep your schedule safe from possible deletion, even if you have financial aid. Remember that it is your responsibility to pay your tuition by the deadline. You can confirm your registration in your MyMotlow account under the student tab, student account, account details page.
