Student Activity Fee Committee Policy : 6:10:00:17

I. PURPOSE

The Student Activity Fee Committee is a recommending body organized to serve the best interest of the students through allocation of student activity fee funds.

II. DUTIES

The duties of this committee are:

  1. to encourage the participation of all clubs or organizations;
  2. to hear and vote upon requests for student activity fee funds submitted by clubs or organizations;
  3. to submit the committee’s recommendations to the Dean of Students;
  4. to review annually the mission of the committee

III. MEMBERS

  1. The committee is composed of the following members:
    1. Three faculty members
    2. One administrative/professional staff person
    3. One student from each campus (Fayetteville, Moore County, McMinnville, and Smyrna) to be selected from a meeting of leaders of clubs and organizations on each campus
    4. Dean of Students (Ex officio, votes only in the event of a tie)
  2. Any faculty member is eligible to be nominated by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  3. The faculty members shall be appointed for a two-year term of membership in rotating years.
  4. The administrative/professional staff person will be selected by the Vice President for Student Affairs, who will serve for a two-year term. The administrative/professional staff person will serve as the Chair.
  5. The student members serve for a one-year term.

IV. MEETINGS

  1. The committee will meet within the first month of each fall and spring semester. The committee will not meet in the summer; requests in the summer will go through the Dean of Students and must follow the guidelines as requests during the fall and spring semesters.

V. DEVIATIONS TO SUBMITTED FEE REQUESTS

  1. Deviations from the original request recommended by the committee must be approved by the Dean of Students. At the discretion of the Dean of Students, deviations from the original request may be sent to the committee chair for review and recommendation prior to consideration for approval.
