Responsible Executive: Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
I. PURPOSE
The Honors Committee is organized to promote the Honors Program at Motlow State Community College (Motlow State); review practices, policies, and procedures in the Honors Program; review applicants for the Honors Scholarship; recruit faculty and potential scholars to join the Honors Program; and recommend and approve changes to the Honors Program processes and procedures.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES
- The duties and responsibilities of the Honors committee include:
- Recruitment
- Recruit capable students in traditional classes to join the Honors Program
- Recruit for enrollment in all Honors Courses
- Coordination of the Program
- Propose/recommend changes to practices, policies, and procedures
- Review Honors Scholarship applications
- Submit timely votes for Honors business
- Serve as a resource for all faculty who teach in the Honors Program
- Attend and assist with Honors events, such as the annual Honors Symposium
- Recruitment
III. APPOINTMENTS
- The committee is composed of the following members:
- Honors Director (ex officio); and
- Honors Faculty (3-year appointments)
- One (1) from each department that offers Honors courses:
- Languages
- Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Humanities
- One (1) from each location:
- Moore County
- Smyrna
- McMinnville
- Fayetteville
- One (1) from each department that offers Honors courses:
